Review: Låpsley

Låpsley came onto our radars with her brilliant single “Falling Short”, an experimental piano driven ballad sold by her patient and piercing vocal delivery. The accompanying video directed by Noel Paul is simplistic and poetic on the outset with her cradling a partner against solemn, black and white framing by Jake Scott . The latter half of the video see’s her fallen partner looping back and forth in motion as if caught in a time paradox, meanwhile Låpsley continues moving along her own chronology despite the two being within the same frame. An understated yet power effect, much like the song itself.

If you haven’t yet listened to Låpsley’s smooth and minimalist EP “Understudy”, its worth your time.
